Subtle adjustment of lip volume
Lips are an important part of our face and therefore determine a person’s appearance. Narrow lips can appear severe or harsh. Unfortunately, not everyone has naturally beautiful full lips. Moreover, the volume of the lips decreases with age.
In addition, lips may become less distinct in shape or wrinkles may appear. Lip filling with fillers brings volume and/or shape (back) to the mouth. Most ladies (and men) want a subtle increase in lip volume, not overly thick lips. Lips relax with Botulinum Toxin: against lip lines and lip-flip
The use of muscle around the mouth (when lips are pursed, such as when smoking, whistling or drinking from a straw) can eventually cause vertical lines (“smoker’s lines,” “crease skirt,” “bar code”) to form in the skin around the lips. If the physical examination shows that this is the case with you, the doctor may consider using a little botulinum toxin to relax this muscle a bit. This can possibly be done in conjunction with treating the skin and thus the lines themselves with fillers.
The -especially popular on TikTok- treatment with the fancy name “Lip Flip” is basically the same thing; the muscle around the mouth is relaxed using botulinum toxin, which causes the lip red to gain more space and become more visible, over several months.
Natural balance
Lip treatment can be used to achieve subtle lip augmentation or contour enhancement. These two effects can be pursued separately or in combination. A natural result is the most important thing!
For lip filling, for example, Emervel Lips is ideally suited. This hyaluronic acid-based gel is flexible and therefore integrates the natural tissue beautifully.
When contour firming is more of an issue Restylane is preferred. This gel is also hyaluronic acid-based but compared to Emervel, it is better suited for contouring or reducing lip lines without increasing the volume of the lip.
Comfortable anesthesia
The area around the mouth is naturally very sensitive. It is important to us that your treatment is as comfortable as possible. For the lips, this means that the doctor uses local anesthesia to numb the lips. After all, lip augmentation really doesn’t have to hurt. Even the anesthetic pricks are hardly noticeable due to the special technique Tom van Eijk uses. If you do not want to be numbed by injections, a preliminary treatment with anesthetic cream is also an option.
